Bjièn Launches Neurodiversity Board Game to Enhance Team Dynamics in Brussels and Wallonia

Ghent, August 20th, 2025 – Bjièn, a provider of neurodiversity and inclusion solutions for the workplace, is launching a French and English version of its board game, 'Becoming a High-Performing, Neurodiverse Team - The Game'. Following its successful implementation in the Netherlands and Flanders at the end of 2024, the game is now specifically targeting companies in Brussels and Wallonia. The game is designed to help team members and managers better understand neurodiversity and to collaborate more effectively and inclusively as a neurodiverse team. This leads to increased productivity, resilience, and wellbeing in the workplace.

'Becoming a High-Performing, Neurodiverse Team - The Game' has already been played and positively received by around 630 professionals in Flanders and the Netherlands. The multilingual launch by Bjièn meets the growing demand from international companies and organisations in Brussels, Wallonia, and beyond.

"Demand for the game has grown enormously over the past year," says Daphné De Troch, co-founder of Bjièn. "Many of our clients work in multilingual environments. With the French and English versions, we can now serve all teams in Belgium and international companies, which is important for an inclusive approach."

Understanding Neurodiversity Through Play

'Becoming a High-Performing, Neurodiverse Team - The Game' simulates realistic work situations. Players work with a fictional team of five people, each with different personalities and working styles, without their specific neurotype being known. The game challenges players to make strategic choices about team management, aiming to achieve and maintain a high score for wellbeing and productivity.

A notable element in the game is a persona whose thinking and working style deviates significantly from the rest of the team. Dietrich Moerman, co-founder of Bjièn, explains: "Initially, this persona causes frustration, and the comment is often made that dismissal seems like the best option. The opposite is true. This persona actually brings innovation and speed to the team. As soon as players learn to deal with the unique needs of this character, they discover that the team truly becomes high-performing and resilient. This perfectly illustrates reality: a diverse approach leads to better results."

Proven Success

The game was developed based on Bjièn's extensive experience and the latest research. Bjièn also regularly adapts the scenarios in the game to align them with specific companies and sectors, such as universities, hospitals, and construction companies.

Companies including RSZ/ONSS, Ansell, TOPdesk, HR Rail, and soon the Kaaitheater, have already started using it.

Xandra Braekman, from Ansell, shares her experience: "At Ansell, we organised a neurodiversity workshop with Bjièn. The feedback from the participants was unanimously positive. The game not only created insight but also a sense of connection. The workshop made it clear how neurodiversity can be both an asset and a challenge. It's a must for any organisation that wants to promote inclusion!"

Lene Vranken from the Agency for Integration and Civic Integration talks about the accessible approach: "The accessible approach and playful nature of the game were highly appreciated by colleagues. Especially for those who were not yet familiar with neurodiversity, it was a pleasant first introduction. I loved seeing that a safe environment was quickly created where people could share their questions and comments."

Sofie Bauwens, HR Business Partner at Wit-Gele Kruis, adds: "It was a valuable moment of awareness and reflection on diversity and team dynamics. The structure was well put together and certainly brought some valuable insights."

Availability

The board game 'Becoming a High-Performing, Neurodiverse Team - The Game' is currently available exclusively in combination with a workshop, guided by experienced Bjièn trainers. This guarantees the most effective learning experience. For larger companies that want to include the workshop in their internal learning programme, Bjièn offers a Train-the-Trainer programme with a licence.
